Here is some more great FREE software.
I run Windows 98SE on a 800 Mhz Pentium 3, and these work great for me.

... Audacity, a real nice .wav (Music) editor. (1.6 KB)
... "Free Precision Rip".
The newest version of this program is no longer free, but this one is ! Install this program and then you will be able to see all the different wav files on a music CD. From mono to stereo. Then just drag and drop the wav you want, into the folder you want and it will "Rip" it from the CD. Very Cool ! The License says I can distribute it, so here it is... Free ! (588 KB)
... dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC)
Formerly known as the "Schuffler Music Converter". Convert wav files to mp3 and mp3 to wavs. Handy. (1.4 KB)
... "Fusion Media Player"
Here is a nice media player for music or vedio files. Plays a lot of different stuff. Quite nice. (150 KB)
... "Cute Movie Player" by Anindya Sundar Das.
Also known as "Active Movie Player"
I really like this little video CD Player. It's small and plays all sorts of video files. I tried to find the author's web site again but, it's not there ! I guess I'll host it for now. (261 KB).
... "CombiMovie"
A nice program for combining two mpg movie files. I have an All-in-Wonder TV card and I like to cut out the commercials when I record things, but then I have a lot of individual meg files. With this program I can combine the mpg files and have one movie again. Nice ! (400 KB).
... "Clic"
Icons can be hard to make. Clic lets you make neat Icons from jpgs. Just open the jpg, right click and copy. Then paste to fit in the "Clic" program and boom you got an Icon. Interesting ! (429 KB).
... "Scanner"
You don't need to install this hard drive scanner. Just un-zip it into a folder and run it ! (162 KB).
... "Fresh Diagnose "
Learn about your computer systems inner workings. You have to register but it is free for personal use.

... "CatFish"
"CatFish" catalogs all the stuff on each of your CDs, Zip Disks, etc.
Very handy for searching out that program you downloaded and burned onto a CD last year. (114 KB).
... "Galaxy 3"
"Galaxy 3" is a great outer space screen saver. All kinds settings. just unzip and put the .src file in your windows folder. (279 KB). You can look at this one for hours and hours. The next version costs money, but this one is freeware.
... "CDview"
"CDview" lets you view all the pictures on a CD in an easy browsing window. You can select to view full size, search for specific images, make an image your Windows wallpaper, or run a fullscreen slideshow of your images directly from CD. (848 KB). This is the free version 2. Version 3 costs a big $2.00, and has more features. Nice for family pictures. Make up a CD, burn a bunch of copies and give them out with your Christmas cards. Neat !
... "Intellivision Utopia and others"
Do you remember playing games on your Intellivision Box and TV ? Well I sure do.
These were great "Pre" computer games. I especially liked "Utopia".
Get them here and relive the "Old" days.
... "Off By 1 Web Browser"
A very small (1.1 Mb), stand alone, web browser.
If you don't like the evil empire's browser, this might be the one for you.
Full HTML 3.2 support. Neat !
... "Scribe"
You will need an E-Mail program to go with your new browser, so here is Scribe.
It does everything you need in a E-Mail program.
